Chip.

Integrated circuits are constructed upon tiny thin slices of silicon (Si). These silicon chips are then housed inside a black plastic or ceramic carrier with metal leads or terminals coming out of it and then soldered onto circuit boards. Computers, digital cameras and automated cameras contain many such chips.
