Disc film.
In the 1980s Kodak tried to sell cameras and film which used tiny square negatives mounted to plastic discs in a sort of star configuration. The discs would rotate between exposures, and since no film spools were involved the cameras could be quite thin and flat.
Like 110 and 126 before it, the system did not survive on the market and 35mm continued to triumph for consumer photography.
