Image editor.

A computer software program designed to modify visual data.

Such editing programs vary wildly in terms of their abilities and cost. Low end programs can be used for simple tasks such as cropping images, altering contrast, perhaps removing redeye and so on. High end programs can be used for almost anything imaginable - compositing multiple images, quick and easy retouching of photographs, application of all kinds of software filters for various effects and so on.

Adobe Photoshop is by far the most popular professional image editing application. Jasc Paintshop Pro, Adobe Photoshop Elements, the GIMP and Corel Procreate Painter are other popular image editors.
