Roof mirror.

Two drawbacks to viewfinder pentaprisms are that they’re fairly heavy - solid glass - and not inexpensive to manufacture. Some cheaper SLRs, including Canon’s low-end EOS cameras, use hollow roof mirror systems instead of solid glass prisms. Unfortunately such mirror configurations don’t transmit as much light and result in much dimmer viewfinders.
