I am having problem focusing on moving water, It does not focus fast i wanted it.
there are few photos were able to be focused ,but most came out blurry. how would i achieve this?
Im shooting with EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Len

Your camera focuses by detecting contrast. Each autofocus sensor looks at an edge of brightness (such as a change from black to white), and adjusts the focus of the lens until that edge is as abrupt as possible. So your camera can focus easily on things that had many such edges (like text in a book, a grid) and it has a hard time focusing on things that have fewer edges. And on something that has no such edges (like a clear blue sky), the camera can't focus at all.
If you are trying to focus on water, it can be that the globs of water are not giving the camera anything that lasts long enough to be focused on. They are simply moving too quickly.
The easiest fix would be to focus on something that is the same distance away as the water globs (perhaps the jet that is squirting the water), then put the lens into manual focus mode. That way you'll have the right focus, and you should find it easier to get the shot. |
