I have found the forum to be extremely useful. In fact, the Beginner FAQs are the most comprehensive I have found on the web. I will be happy if NKG or any other user can help me with my question.
I am new to macro photography, and I have just placed an order for the Canon 100mm 2.8f macro today. I am wondering whether I should also buy the Canon 500D diopter in order to shoot macro photos with greater magnification? Is this advisable? If a diopter will help me shoot macro photos with better magnification, should I go in for the Canon 250D or the 500D?
Your comments and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

| Well, it will magnify things, but then you've got to have a really sturdy tripod or else flash to freeze motion. The 100mm 2.8 macro already goes down to 1:1. I'd try it for a bit and see if it's adequate for your needs before adding a dioptre, personally. But that's just me. |
