| I'm pretty new to photography. I have a Canon Rebel K2 and want to get a good macro lens. What would you recomend? Also, does Canon use glass or plastic for it's lenses, or does it depend on the lens? Glass or plastic is never specified in the lens specs. |

Good depends on the type of macro photography you want to do, and your budget.

I've never heard of plastic being used in Canon EF lens element construction - just various types of glass and fluorite crystal. Some replicated aspherical lenses use a plastic surface stuck onto a glass element, but I don't know if EF lenses use this construction or not. Anyone have a reference from Canon saying one way or the other? |
